Mineral Identification – Come learn about the rock and minerals you will find in Nevada.  You must purchase “Handbook of Rocks, Minerals and Gemstones” by Walter Schumann for use in class.  Please try to get the paperback version so it is easy to make notes from the lecture.  You will receive a kit with samples of the minerals you are likely to encounter on Field Trips.  The class is taught by Tom Calhoun, retired geologist.
