Skill Level: Beginner 

What You Will Learn: Beginning Lapidary introduces new students to the basics of cutting, shaping, and polishing stone to create a cabochon. The process takes you through the steps of selecting a slab of stone, drawing a design, using a trim saw to cut the stone, and shaping and polishing your cabochon. Please see the pictures at the bottom of the page for examples of the steps you will learn. The class also covers the basics of shop safety and how to use lapidary equipment.  

Class Materials, Tools, and Supplies: Stone for your first 3 project are supplied as well as all shop supplies and equipment necessary for cutting and polishing the stone. In this class you will use Trim Saws, Grinding and Polishing Machines, Dop Sticks, and Super Glue.
