The Jackpot of Gems is an annual gem and mineral show that has been held in the Reno area for over 50 years. The show is put on by the Reno Gem and Mineral Society once a year as part of its non-profit 501(C)(3) commitment to educate people who have an interest in minerals and gems that are so abundant in the State of Nevada. It is a fun hobby to learn about and the Show is enjoyable for the entire family.

There is a lot to see and do at the Jackpot of Gems:

Display cases created by RGMS members displaying rocks, gems, and minerals.

Demonstrations showing how to create some of the beautiful things shown in the Display Cases and at the classes offered at RGMS.

Florescent Rock Booth with  minerals that have been called “nature’s light show”.  Expect to learn something new about rocks and minerals.

Exploring for Gold - learn method and go on a treasure

Kid’s Corner.  Plenty of fun activities for all ages at the Kid’s Corner.

Wheel of Fortune for children to spin the wheel and win prizes

Silent Auction every 30 minutes to bid for beautiful minerals and other prizes plus daily auctions for large specimens.

More than 45 Vendors offering minerals, gems, and jewelry.
